National cooperation

National research councils and ministries in the Nordic countries are represented in the committee and constitute some of NKJs main stakeholders:

NKJ acts as an adviser to the Nordic Council of Ministers. In addition NKJ cooperates actively with several Nordic bodies within the agriculture, forestry and food sectors. These bodies are represented with observer status on the committee and constitute:

Cooperation with the EU

EU flag. Illustration.NKJ will work to strengthen the Nordic region’s position on the European research arena within agricultural and food research. NKJ will bring experience and viewpoints from the Nordic region into the European research cooperation in order to influence the shaping of the research agenda in Europe and participate actively in cooperative efforts where regional interests and research financing may have a great significance. NKJ will accomplish this by:
• Contribute actively to the European Committee for  Agricultural Research, The Standing Committee on Agricultural Research (SCAR)
• Contribute to the further development of the European Research Area (ERA) by participation in relevant ERA-NETs
• Participate actively un EU Joint Programming Initiatives
