The Results Seminar of the Strategic Research Programme Food and the Food Policy Forum (26.5.2025) will be held in City Centre Campus, University of Helsinki main building, small hall (F4050).

The Nordic-Baltic Food Systems Conference (27-28.5.2025) will be held in Viikki Campus.

How to get there

• University of Helsinki, main building

The Results Seminar of the Strategic Food Program and Food Policy Forum venue address: Fabianinkatu 33 (Googlemaps), Helsinki. The barrier-free entrance is located to the far left of the Fabianinkatu entrance. Elevators are located on both sides of the 1st floor lobby. Both elevators are accessible. 

The events are held in the Small hall of the main building (F4050). Registration and lunch are served at the Aula Sirén.

University of Helsinki, Viikki campus
NFN2025 Scientific Conference venue address: Latokartanonkaari 9 (Googlemaps), Helsinki 
The registration, keynote sessions, parallel sessions, poster sessions and workshops are held in A-building in the Forestry Science Building or at the Meeting Center.

How to get to Viikki campus 

Public transport HSL (The Helsinki Regional Transport Authority) in Helsinki is quick, reliable, and easy to use. 
HSL tickets: 
Contactless payment is available on all HSL public transport (trains, buses, trams and metro). 
Tickets can also be bought with Mobile Pay or credit card via HSL app

The bus 78 (to the direction Latokartano via Viikki) leaves from Rautatientori (reittiopas.fi), platform 1 (bus stop ID H2041) next to the Central railway station in Helsinki city centrum. Get off at the bus stop Viikin Tiedepuisto (reittiopas.fi) (H3174). 

Buses 75, 711, 717, 739, 785K, and 788K all leave from Rautatientori, see the departing platforms from HSL journey planner. Get off at the bus stop Viikki (reittiopas.fi) (H3035).

Lunch restaurants (Map 2) 
You will receive lunch tickets from the registration desk on Tuesday morning.   
With the lunch tickets you can eat at two different campus restaurants in Viikki: 
• Unicafe Viikuna, Agnes Sjöbergin katu 2 (Googlemaps). See the menu (unicafe.fi)
• Unicafe Biocenter 1, Viikinkaari 9 (Googlemaps). See the menu (unicafe.fi)

How to get to Koskenranta 
Koskenranta (Koskenranta.net) by bus: 

Buses 57 (to the direction Munkkiniemi via Ruskeasuo and 78 (to the direction Rautatientori via Sörnäinen(M)) leave from the bus stop Viikin Tiedepuisto (reittiopas.fi) (H3173).
Get off at the bus stop Viikinranta (reittiopas.fi) (H3072).

By bike: 
With the HSL app you can register to use the yellow Alepa city bikes (5 €/ day). 
Closest bike station in Viikki is Viikin Tiedepuisto (reittiopas.fi) (239) in front of the supermarket Prisma.
Leave the bike at the bike station Katariina Saksilaisen katu (reittiopas.fi) (235) next to Koskenranta.

 

On foot: 
The walking route to Koskenranta goes through fields, forests (including the Viikki Arboretum) and park-like sceneries (~3,5 km/ 45-50 min). 
Stretch your legs and join us on a guided walk to Koskenranta. The walking group leaves at 18.00 from the poster session lobby (Latokartanonkaari 9, A-building). 

 

Airport train and bus connection
Trains I (track 2) and P (track 1) leave from the station Lentoasema (reittiopas.fi) (V0531) and take you to the city centrum station Helsinki (reittiopas.fi) (H0061).  

Bus number 600 leaves from the bus stop Lentoasema (reittiopas.fi) (V5309), and takes you to Rautatientori, platform 7 (H2047).  

The orange buses are so called Trunk route buses, meaning that passengers can board the buses also through the middle doors.

 

From Viikki to airport:
Tram number 15 (towards Keilaniemi) from the station Latokartano (reittiopas.fi) (H0719) to Oulunkylän asema (reittiopas.fi) (H0727), and change to train I (to the direction Lentoasema), track 3.

Hotels
Special rates have been negotiated with different hotels in Helsinki for NFN 2025 Conference attendees and you can only get these rates shown here via the conference registration form or booking via Confedent International after the personal registration has been done. In addition to these options, Helsinki offers variety of hostels and hotels, but these you would need to book on your own.

To guarantee your hotel reservation, a deposit of one night’s room rate is required during reservation. The deposit will be deducted from the total accommodation cost, that is to be settled at the hotel upon check-in. 

The hotel room rates include VAT and breakfast. Rooms are reserved on a first come – first served basis. For late bookings, availability can’t be guaranteed.

If you need to change a booking already made, or if you need additional nights before or after the actual conference days, kindly contact us at after making the initial registration to the conference. Please do not contact the hotel directly regarding changes or additional nights.
