NKJ recently visited NJF’s congress to create an arena for networking and shaping research ideas for Nordic agricultural and food researchers. As an introduction to the congress, we arranged a matchmaking event for Nordic agricultural and food researchers. Thank you for the collaboration, NJF!

Sixteen people gathered to move forward with existing ideas, create entirely new projects together, or get to know more researchers in the same field. Moderator Malin von Essen skillfully guided the participants through mini-workshops where they reflected on who they would need to contact to move their dream project forward, what tools and strategies are needed for successful networking, and specifically how to proceed to realize their plans after the matchmaking. They also learned how to apply for funding for networking activities through NKJ’s calls for proposals.

The participants all worked within agriculture and food in one way or another, but were of different ages, backgrounds, and experiences. PhD students were mixed with professors, and the participants gave each other the opportunity to gain new perspectives, ideas, and contacts for their continued careers.

We wish everyone who participated good luck with the ongoing work on their projects! We would love to hear from you to learn about your progress!
